From first visit, you will notice that Gerard thoroughly enjoys what he does. It’s a great feeling to earn my living helping people with their real estate decisions. I’ve lived and worked in Southwest Wisconsin for most of my life, and every day I gain a greater appreciation for what we have to offer here.  He often shares some local history or landmark in midst of his appointments. As a full-time broker, Gerard’s approach to real estate is focused around getting to know his clients and making himself available as a resource long after their move. He gets great satisfaction out of being able to put his energy into helping people explore their options and make the best decisions with their real estate investments. Gerard loves seeing the excitement in the eyes of the families he works with, especially when they find that “right” home!

Gerard’s Background

Gerard was a top-producing agent for several area real estate companies from 2005-2012.  He helped over 30 families in 2012 and another 30 families in 2011, during a time period when other agents were struggling to put transactions together in a weak housing market.  In 2013, as the next logical step in his career, he and two partners started their own company, Platteville Realty LLC. 

Gerard says “Now more than ever people need to choose an agent they can trust, one who is available and diligent to your requests.  Part-time and inexperience can lead to stressful situations.”

Gerard is a member of the South Central MLS, the Wisconsin Realtors Association, and the National Association of Realtors. He is an active member in the Platteville Cooperating Brokers. Gerard is a 2009 graduate of the Community Leadership Alliance and has a Bachelors Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He is also a former board member of the Southwest Wisconsin Board of Realtors. As a local developer and landlord, he has a genuine interest in the pulse of the market.

Mr. Abing was born and raised on a local dairy farm and is part of a large family, so hard work and long work days are nothing new to him.  Gerard and his wife Roxzanne have been married since 1978; together they have four grown daughters and seven grandchildren that bring many enjoyable moments. In their free time, they enjoy following high school sporting events, traveling backroads, hiking, and photography.  He invites you to interview him to work as your agent and help you make the right move!

Deb Jenny has been a full-time Realtor since 1986 with extensive experience in residential, commercial, investment, land and farm sales as well as property management. She has a long list of returning clients and referral sources. Client service is, and always has been, the top priority. Formerly an owner of Rountree Realty, she also worked at United Country Platteville Realty for two years before partnering to open Platteville Realty, LLC in January, 2013.

Always wanting to give back to the community and her career, Deb is active on the Platteville Holiday Committee, Veterans Honor Roll Committee, Platteville Tourism Committee, Platteville Regional Chamber Board, Tourism Council, and is an Ambassador Committee member. She was the 2017 and 2018 President of the Platteville Regional Chamber, and 2019 and 2020 Past President of the Chamber, as well as the current president of Friends of the Mining and Rollo Jamison Museums. She also previously worked with the Rountree Gallery Transition Committee, Chamber Greeter Service and Ag Tourism Committees. She served as Chairman of the Platteville Moving Wall Ceremonies Committee and she has been active in United Way, Rotary, City of Platteville Rental Task Force, Tourism Commission, Church Council and Trust Committee, Deb is a member of the South Central Wisconsin Realtors Association, Wisconsin Realtors Association, National Association of Realtors and past member of Council of Residential Specialists. She was Realtor of the Year for Southwest Wisconsin in 1994. She served on the WRA Forms Committee for many years and is a past member of the Professional Standards Committee for the South Central Realtors and local Board of Realtors. While raising her family Deb was involved in school activities as well as youth sports and the arts. Deb and her husband, Larry, have 2 sons, a daughter-in-law and 2 grandchildren.
